European Union's cities and regions strongly condemn the Russian military aggression of Ukraine

    February 24, 2022

The following is a press release:

On behalf of all European Union's cities and regions we strongly condemn the Russian military aggression of Ukraine. Mayors of Ukraine are our partners. Free people of Europe and their local communities reject the war and express their solidarity with the Ukrainian cities bombarded by the Russian aggressor.

There is no place for revanchist rhetoric calls for return to the Soviet Union in today's world where European nations and people are free. We show our unwavering support for Ukrainians, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of their nation.

We stand ready to support Ukrainian cities and regions with all the means available, now and in the future.

    Free Ukraine.

Apostolos Tzitzikostas, President of the European Committee of the Regions

Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, Mayor of Gdansk, President of the Working Group CoR-Ukraine
