RIGA, Sept 6 (LETA) - At weekend, the number of Covid-19 patients in regional hospitals has increased, LETA learned from hospitals.

Daugavpild Hospital's spokeswoman Gundega Gronska said that today there are 81 Covid-19 patients in the hospital, including ten with severe symptoms. Almost 20 patients were hospitalized at weekend, mostly aged 30-91. The hospital currently has 123 beds for Covid-19 patients.

Liepaja Regional Hospital spokeswoman Indra Grase said that the hospital today has 18 Covid-19 patients, including two in critical state. Among Covid-19 patients there is also a family with a three-year old child.

Liepaja hospital currently has 33 Covid-19 beds, including eight in intensive care.

Starting today, also Rezekne and Vidzeme hospitals admit Covid-19 patients.

As reported, with 15 Covid-19 patients admitted to hospitals and one discharged in the past 24 hours, the number of Covid-19 patients receiving hospital treatment in Latvia has increased to 194, according to information released by the National Health Service.
