Kleinbergs to be leader of Progressives' ticket for upcoming Riga City Council elections
RIGA, Oct 14 (LETA) - Riga City Council lawmaker Viesturs Kleinbergs will be the leader of the Progressives' ticket for the upcoming Riga City Council elections, the Progressives faction said in a press conference today.
At the time when the Progressives were the leader of the Riga City Council coalition, Kleinbergs was the chair of the social affairs committee. At present he works in the social affairs and transport affairs committees.
The Progressives currently have 11 lawmakers at the Riga City Council.
As reported, the leader of the National Alliance's ticket for the Riga City Council elections will be incumbent vice mayor Edvarts Ratnieks.
Riga Mayor Vilnis Kirsis (New Unity) said in an interview with LETA earlier that he will repeatedly run for the mayor's position.
Meanwhile, Latvia First will put its leader Ainars Slesers at the top of its ticket for the elections.
