Nearly EUR 500,000 allocated to Riga innovation fund projects in three years
Riga, April 24 (LETA) - Over the last three years, almost EUR 500,000 have been allocated on various projects from the Riga innovation fund, said Inese Andersone (New Unity), the head of the Riga City Council urban development committee, at an expert discussion Riga Smart City: Now and in the Future.
The fund was established in April 2022. Its mission is to promote the development of the smart city, test solutions and support departments in the implementation of innovative products. It also hopes to support the development of pilot areas, technology acquisition and research.
Priority areas for support are mobility, environment, security, health and well-being.
A total of 50 projects have been submitted to the fund between 2022 and 2025, of which 26 have been approved for a total of EUR 455,211.
As reported, today at the Riga City Council an expert discussion Riga Smart City: Now and in the Future is taking place, where experts from public administration, business, universities and non-governmental organizations are discussing how to develop Riga smart city and ensure effective cooperation between institutions and organizations.
