Finance minister to make working visit to Liepaja on Friday
Riga, March 20 (LETA) - On Friday, March 21, Finance Minister Arvils Aseradens will pay a working visit to Liepaja, where he will meet with representatives of the Liepaja City Council and the Liepaja Special Economic Zone administration, representatives of the Finance Ministry informed LETA.
The finance minister is expected to discuss the region's economic development opportunities, investment attraction and financial support instruments for local initiatives, the ministry informed.
During his visit, the minister will also visit the Liepaja Rainis Secondary School, where he will give a lecture on economic and financial issues to secondary school students, explaining economic processes and the role of the state in ensuring sustainable development.
He will also get acquainted with local business by visiting the fish processing plant SyFud to learn about the company's activities, challenges and export opportunities. At the metalworking company Yokohama TWS Latvia, the minister will learn about innovations and developments in the manufacturing sector and discuss the prospects for the sector in Latvia.
The aim of the visit is to strengthen cooperation with the representatives of the region, promote dialogue on economic challenges and development prospects, as well as to support local initiatives that contribute to the economic growth of Liepaja and the Kurzeme region, the representatives of the ministry explained.
