Former Engure Region Council chairman Vaza elected head of Tukums Region Council
RIGA, July 1 (LETA) - Former Engure Region Council chairman Gundars Vaza (Latvian Association of Regions) was elected mayor of Tukums Region Council today.
Vaza was the only candidate for the job. All 18 council members voted for Vaza.
Latvian Association of Regions took 37.99 percent of the vote in the latest Tukums Region Council election, according to the Central Election Commission's data.
Latvian Association of Regions won eight out of 19 seats on Tukums Region Council, Latvian Green Party three, and For the City and Region of Tukums, Unity, Latvian Farmers' Union, National Alliance each won two seats on Tukums Region Council.
