    Covid-19 incidence in 15 municipalities exceeds Latvia's average rate of infections

    RIGA, Feb 15 (LETA) - In 15 municipalities Covid-19 incidence currently exceeds Latvia's average rate of infections, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

    In the city of Jelgava, 14-day Covid-19 incidence has increased to 10,866.3 cases per 100,000 population. In Kekava municipality, 14-day Covid-19 incidence reaches 9,100 cases per 100,000 population, and in Marupe, Ropazi and Olaine municipalities it exceeds 8,000 cases per 100,000 population.

    Across Latvia, the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population has risen to 6,976.4. Apart from said municipalities, Covid-19 incidence tops Latvia's average also in the regions of Riga, Bauska, Jelgava and Talsi municipalitirs, Daugavpils, Salaspils, Tukums and Siguldas municipalities, Jurmala and Adazi municipalities.

    Varaklani is currently the only municipality with less than 3,000 Covid-19 cases recorded per 100,000 population in the past 14 days.

    Of the 11,105 new cases recorded today, 32 percent or 3,528 are registered in Riga.
