Rinkevics stresses need to continue support to regional media
Riga, Sept 30 (LETA) - Regional media should continue to receive support in order to ensure access to quality content on socially important events for the people of the regions, Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics stressed at a meeting with Culture Minister Agnese Lace (Progressives) on Monday.
According to the president's aide Martins Dregeris, during the meeting the parties discussed the priorities of the Culture Ministry for 2025, including work on the preparation for the 13th Latvian School Youth Song and Dance Festival and ensuring the sustainability of the festival tradition.
Rinkevics and Lace also discussed issues related to media policy, as well as the preparation of the project Liepaja 2027 - European Capital of Culture.
During the meeting, the president expressed his satisfaction with the additional funding allocated for the increase of the remuneration of the Song and Dance Festival team leaders.
