First large vaccination centers to open doors on Saturday

RIGA, April 1 (LETA) - The first large vaccination centers in eight Latvian cities will open doors on Saturday, April 3, according to the Health Ministry's presentation submitted to the government on Thursday.
Three vaccination centers in Riga will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday - at Kipsala exhibition hall, Atta center, and Riga Central Market. Vaccination centers will also open at Valmiera Culture Center, Latgale Embassy Gors in Rezekne, Latvian Culture Center in Daugavpils and at Daugavpils Culture Center, Jekabpils Sports Center, Zemgale Olympic Center in Jelgava, Liepaja Olympic Center, and Jurmala Sports School. All vaccination centers will be open until 6 p.m.
Vaccination center in Cesis, located at former Super Netto store, will open on Sunday. This center, too, will be open from 10 a.m. to p.m.
According to the Health Ministry, on Tuesday and Wednesday Latvia received 68,400 vaccines in total.
As reported, Eva Juhnevica, head of the Vaccination Project, informed journalists Monday that there was a plan to open Latvia's large vaccination centers already during the upcoming Easter holidays.
Together with the large vaccination centers, Latvia's vaccination capacity is projected at 100,000 to 150,000 vaccinations per week, while the current vaccination capacity, which includes family physicians' practices, private health services providers and hospitals, is 55,000 vaccinations per week.
