Two cities and seven municipalities will contribute to the Local Government Equalization Fund this year
Riga, Jan 1 (LETA) - Two cities and seven municipalities will make contributions to the Local Government Financial Equalization Fund this year, according to the Cabinet of Ministers regulations on the revenues of the Local Government Financial Equalization Fund and the procedure for their distribution in 2025, approved by the government.
The revenues of the Local Government Financial Equalization Fund in 2025 are planned at EUR 246,164,957, or 9 percent more than in 2024.
The revenue of the Local Government Equalization Fund will consist of a state budget subsidy of EUR 50,630,855 and local government contributions of EUR 195,534,102.
In 2025, two cities - Riga and Jurmala - as well as seven municipalities will contribute to the Local Government Equalization Fund.
Riga's contribution is EUR 138,641,872 or 15.7 percent of personal income tax revenues, while Jurmala's contribution is EUR 9,309,302 or 13 percent of the tax revenues.
It is also planned that Adazi municipality will contribute EUR 6,917,724 or 18 percent of its personal income tax revenue, Kekava municipality - EUR 7,030,956 or 14.4 percent, Marupe municipality - EUR 19,771,339 or 25.2 percent, Olaine municipality - EUR 1,027,262 or 4.1 percent, Ropazi municipality - EUR 9,522,822 or 16.7 percent, Salaspils municipality - EUR 1,426,221 or 4.7 percent, Saulkrasti municipality - EUR 1,886,604 or 13.9 percent of the personal income tax revenue.
