State budget grants of EUR 2.5 million will be awarded to five municipalities at the EU's external border
Riga, Jan 29 (LETA) - The Finance Ministry will allocate a state budget subsidy of EUR 2.5 million to five European Union (EU) external border municipalities according to the length of kilometers of the EU external border, according to a draft Cabinet of Ministers decree prepared by the Finance Ministry and submitted for approval.
The amount of the grant is EUR 822,637 for Ludza municipality, EUR 653,442 for Kraslava municipality, EUR 484,247 for Balvi municipality, EUR 319,137 for Aluksne municipality and EUR 220,537 for Augsdaugava municipality.
The length of the EU external border is is 54.7 kilometers for Aluksne municipality, 37.8 kilometers for Augsdaugava municipality, 83 kilometers for Balvi municipality, 112 kilometers for Kraslava municipality and 141 kilometers for Ludza municipality.
The state budget grant will be provided from the budget line Grants to Local Authorities and will be paid in one instalment.
