Business growth in Ropazi Region creates conditions for population growth - Rinkevics
RIGA, Jan 16 (LETA) - In Ropazi Region, the growth of entrepreneurship creates not only jobs, but also the necessary conditions to promote population growth, emphasized President Edgars Rinkevics.
Martins Dregeris, adviser to the President, told LETA that Rinkevics paid a working visit to Ropazi municipality on Thursday, where he met with the leadership of the Ropazi Regional Council and students of Ropazi Secondary School.
Rinkevics noted that he had an interesting conversation with the students of the Ropazi Secondary School Eco-Council about the good works that the young people are doing to create a nature-friendly environment at school and at home. He was pleased that young people sort and dispose of waste, plant trees, walk and cycle more, and advocate for the right to obtain a bicycle license at school.
"It is gratifying that the number of primary school pupils in the municipality is increasing and the accessibility of kindergartens for families is gradually improving, including the construction of modular buildings as a short-term solution," the President said after his working visit.
While familiarizing himself with the business activity in Ropazi, Rinkevics visited the fish farm Zivs uz Ledus, the robotic food equipment production plant Peruza and the construction materials production plant Sakret.
The President noted that bold ideas of entrepreneurs give a positive push to the development of both large production and small family businesses.
"I am glad that the municipality and the enterprising people of Ropazi are working to provide residents with the opportunity to create their own environment with added value," Rinkevics shared his impressions after the working visit.
At the end of his working visit, the President visited the library of the cultural center Ulbrokas Perle and met with the residents of Ropazi municipality, answering their questions.
