Gints Sivins approved as Economics Ministry's representative at board of Riga port
RIGA, July 6 (LETA) - The Cabinet of Ministry on Tuesday decided to approve Economics Ministry's representative, deputy mayor of Ogre region, Gints Sivins (National Alliance) at the board of the Riga port.
The Economics Ministry informed that board member Artis Grinbergs tendered resignation on July 1.
Economics Minister Janis Vitenbergs (National Alliance) decided to put forward a new representative for the board - Sivins.
The government also decided to allow Sivins to combine his position at Ogre regional council, at the council of the Vidzeme planning region with the position at the board of the Riga port.
The Riga port has a board of four members, representatives proposed by the Economics Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the Transport Ministry and the Environment Protection and Regional Development Ministry, and appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Riga port is the largest Latvian port by cargo volumes and the number of passengers.
