Covid-19 reaches Lubana, the last municipality unaffected by the virus
RIGA, Dec 2 (LETA) - Lubana, the last municipality of Latvia still unaffected by the coronavirus, recorded its first Covid-19 case on Tuesday, according to information released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
Of the 690 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Latvia over the past 24 hours, nearly 40 were reported in Riga, while cases continued to grow fast also in Daugavpils.
With 258 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in the capital city over the past 24 hours, the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases in Riga has grown to 3,081.
In Daugavpils, which registered 76 new cases, the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases has reached 776.
Another 22 coronavirus cases were registered in Jelgava which recorded 132 cases Monday. The total number of cases registered in this city over the past two weeks is 350.
Meanwhile, 24 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Kekava region and 23 in Marupe region. In these municipalities, the two-week incidence has reached 156 in Kekava and 138 in Marupe.
Also, 22 new Covid-19 cases were confirmed in Jurmala, 16 in Rezekne, 11 in Kekava region and 12 in Liepaja. Jekabpils, as well as Salaspils and Jelgava regions each reported 10 new cases.
The municipalities with the highest 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases include Riga with 3,081 cases, Daugavpils with 776 cases, Jelgava with 350 cases, Jurmala with 207 cases, Marupe with 138 cases, Salacgriva with 115 cases, Rezekne with 113 cases and Salaspils region with 104 cases.
