This year, public transport in Riga will not be free of charge on public holidays
RIGA, May 26 (LETA) - This year, public transport in Riga will not be free of charge on public holidays, the Riga City Council decided.
The Riga City Council lawmakers adopted amendments to the regulation on public transport, providing that on public holidays, such as June 23-24 for Midsummer, November 18 for the Independence Day, December 31 and January 1 for New Year, rides in the public transport will not be free of charge.
However, the city executive director will be authorized to issue a decree on free of charge rides on these days if the epidemiological situation improves.
