Liepaja and Dienvidkurzeme municipalities admit 69 refugees from Ukraine last week
RIGA, April 19 (LETA) - Liepaja and Dienvidkurzeme municipalities on April 11-17 registered 69 new refugees from Ukraine - 52 in LIepaja and 17 in Dienvidkurzeme municipality, LETA learned from the Liepaja municipal administration.
In total, Liepaja and the municipality so far have admitted 1,046 refugees - 855 in the city and 191 in the municipality. Ukrainian residents are provided with material and non-materials support.
Tabitas Sirds charity organization last week provided humanitarian assistance - clothing, hygiene products, bedlinen, kitchenware, furniture and other household goods - to 122 Ukrainian refugees.
The information center provided 156 consultation on the phone and 37 consultations in person to the refugees.
In total 66 Ukrainian children are enrolled in schools in Liepaja and 44 children go to kindergartens.
16 refugee families received health care services last week.
In total, 64 Ukrainian refugees registered as job seekers with the State Employment Agency, while 46 Ukrainians have found jobs.
Liepaja social service last week paid benefits for a total sum of EUR 159,041, including EUR 48,441 in guaranteed minimum income benefit, EUR 106,066 in crisis benefits.
