Straubergs elected as chairman of Limbazi regional council
RIGA, July 1 (LETA) - Former mayor of Salacgriva, Dagnis Straubergs (Latvian Association of Regions, LRA), has been elected as the chairman of the Limbazi regional council.
Straubergs was supported with nine votes to five, one voting slip was invalid.
Former Limbazi regional council chairman Didzis Zemmers (Greens/Farmers) received five votes.
As reported, LRA won seven out of 15 seats at the Limbazi regional council. Other parties elected to the local council are the Union of Greens and Farmers, Vidzeme Party, the National Alliance, the New Conservative Party.
