EUR 1.19 million to be invested in upgrading Grebneva border crossing point
RIGA, Jan 19 (LETA) - Valsts Nekustamie Ipasumi (VNI) state property manager plans to invest EUR 1.19 million in upgrade of Grebneva border crossing point with Russia, said VNI board chairman Renars Griskevics.
She said that four border control pavilions, a terminal for buses will be built in order to improve the infrastructure. The total funding for the infrastructure upgrade has been planned at EUR 1.19 million.
"Maintenance and development of the borders as objects significant for security of Latvia and the EU is one of the directions in operations of VNI. This year we will continue upgrade of the border crossing points that was started last year, and start upgrade of Grebneva border crossing point which will be completed by early 2022," said Griskevics.
Presently, infrastructure upgrade projects are being implemented also at Terehova, Paternieki and Silene border crossing points.
