RIGA, May 14 (LETA) - International passenger carrier Lux Express will open a new bus route between Riga and the Lithuanian city of Klaipeda on May 30, the company informed LETA.

The journey from Riga to Klaipeda, as well as the return journey, will take five hours and ten minutes. The journey from Liepaja to Klaipeda will take approximately one hour and 40 minutes.

Buses from Riga to Klaipeda will run at 7:00, 11:30 and 16:00, from Klaipeda to Riga at 8:10, 12:55 and 17:10, and from Liepaja to Klaipeda at 10:30, 15:00 and 19:30.

The Lux Express route between Riga and Klaipeda will be available from May 30 to August 31.

Aldis Kibens, Member of the Board of Lux Express Latvia, points out that last year, when Lux Express opened a commercial passenger service on the regional route Liepaja-Riga-Daugavpils, it heard the desire of Liepaja residents and the city administration to connect with Klaipeda.

As reported, turnover of Lux Express Latvia was EUR 3.783 million last year, which is 2.2 times more than a year earlier, but the company suffered a loss of EUR 354,167, as opposed to a profit a year earlier, according to the information of Firmas.lv.

Lux Express Latvia was registered in 1994 and has a share capital of EUR 193,404. The company is owned by Lux Express Estonia, a company registered in Estonia. Lux Express Group operates international long-distance bus services to major Baltic cities and Warsaw, as well as domestic passenger services in Latvia and Estonia.
