Valmiera boasts highest uptake of Covid-19 vaccines among Latvia's cities
RIGA, March 25 (LETA) - Among Latvia's cities, Valmiera is showing the highest rate of vaccination against Covid-19 at the end of March, with 71 percent of the city's population immunized against the virus, according to the data released by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).
Riga and Jurmala follows with 67 percent, Liepaja and Jelgava with 66 percent, Ventspils with 65 percent, and Rezekne, Daugavpils and Jekabpils with 62 percent of their residents inoculated against Covid-19.
Over the past month, the uptake of Covid-19 vaccines has grown by one percentage point only in Valmiera and Jekabpils.
Across Latvia, 66 percent of the population have completed the primary vaccination course at the end of March. The figure has remained unchanged over the past month.
Among Latvia's provinces, the highest vaccine uptake has been recorded in Vidzeme where 68 percent of the population have completed the primary immunization course.
Riga and its surrounding municipalities follow with 67 percent, Kurzeme and Zemgale with 66 percent and Latgale with 61 percent vaccine uptake.
