United List has increased its representation in municipalities
Riga, June 8 (LETA) - The United List has increased its representation in municipalities after the local elections, Edgars Tavars, the head of the United List Saeima faction, told LETA.
He said that the United List and its member parties, alone or in joint lists with other partners, have entered a number of municipalities, outperforming the Union of Greens and Farmers and the New Unity. In addition, the United List has also entered the Riga City Council, where it will form a coalition.
"The United List has increased its representation in Latvian municipalities," Tavars concluded.
Of the municipalities where the United List representatives ran for the elections, the party did not win any seats in Daugavpils and Ludza municipalities.
In total, the United List or the political forces represented in it will be represented in 35 municipalities with around 160 lawmakers.
