Abola joins Harmony faction on Riga City Council; Brante quits NA/LRA
RIGA, March 26 (LETA) - Riga councilwoman Natalija Abola has joined the Harmony faction of the city council, while councilwoman Ieva Brante has quit the National Alliance/Latvian Association of Regions (NA/LRA) faction, Riga Vice Mayor Edvards Ratnieks (NA/LRA) informed before a meeting of the city council on Wednesday.
As LETA reported, Abola has left the Honor to Serve Riga (GKR) faction and will run in this year's municipal elections on the Harmony ticket. Abola explained her decision by saying that she shares Harmony's political stance.
Meanwhile, Brante has joined For the Development of Latvia (LA) party and will run on its ticket in the municipal elections.
