RIGA, May 19 (LETA) - Nine tourism business representatives will receive a total of EUR 84,400 from Liepaja local government, LETA learned.

The municipal funding will be used by BB Camping for glamping tents, Karostas Cietums II for adapting Redans tourism object for visit also during the autumn and winter period.

Sarmants will organize a number of events, attracting primary and secondary tourism audience after the end of the tourism season. Liepaja Music will open a new entertainment and recreation place. Marlin-11 will renovate a historical fishery boat for the needs of tourism.

JA Travel will offer education tourism project in relation to fishery skills. Konceptveikals MA:LA will open and cafe and lifestyle store. O.A.G.Projekti will refurbish interior design in Liepaja University hostel, while Majoka will introduce new tourism services on Liepaja Lake and Liepaja aquatorium

The local government reported that in total 13 projects were submitted for the tender. The goal is to promote ideas that would attract tourists, promote regular use of products and services and provide support to tourism and hospitality sector who suffered during the Covid-19 crisis.
