There are no signals that any Ukrainian citizens would be left without accommodation in Latvia - Eklons

RIGA, July 6 (LETA) - There are no signals that any Ukrainian citizens would be left without a shelter in Latvia, said Interior Minister Kristaps Eklons in an interview with commercial TV3 television today.

Considering reducing in compensations for admission of refugees, pressure on local governments, especially in state cities where the capacity is larger, has increased.

Eklons believes that after July 1, when compensations for accommodation of refugees have been reduced, the problems have not increased significantly. "There are no signals that any refugees would have been left without a shelter. They are accommodated, every day new refugees arrive in Latvia," he said.

The minister praised municipalities for everything they have done in admission of refugees, but said that work in municipalities is on "an emotional wave", but instead this process should be planned carefully and resources should be allocated.
