    Highest turnout reported in Kurzeme and Vidzeme by 4 pm

    RIGA, Oct 1 (LETA) - By 4 pm on Saturday, the highest turnout at the 14th Saeima elections has been reported in Kurzeme and Vidzeme, according to the Central Election Commission's data.

    By 4 pm, including votes from early voting, 48.44 percent of eligible voters have cast their votes in Kurzeme region, which is higher than in the previous parliament elections in 2018 (42.44 percent).

    In Vidzeme, the turnout was 48.28 percent (45 percent in 2018), in Zemgale - 46.46 percent (41.65 percent), and in Latgale - 44.33 percent (33.37 percent).

    At the same time, 33.88 percent of eligible voters have cast their votes by 4 pm in Riga (38.67 percent in 2018). The total number in Riga includes also polling stations abroad, but information about voter turnout there is not yet available. Excluding polling stations abroad, 47.49 percent of eligible voters in Riga have already made their choice today.

    As reported, the Saeima elections are held in Latvia today and altogether there are 1,542,407 eligible voters in Latvia and abroad.
