Ventspils joins UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities
RIGA, Sept 6 (LETA) - Ventspils has become a member of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, LETA learned from Ventspils education board representative Jana Bakanauska.
The Global Network of Learning Cities has been developed by the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, joining 294 UNESCO cities across the globe that successfully promote lifelong learning across their communities.
Bakanauska said that Ventspils is a city with opportunities to obtain education of all levels - starting from preschool up to higher education, as well as diverse lifelong education programs.
Participation in the Global Network of Learning Cities will be another opportunity for information and experience exchange in promoting lifelong learning, cooperation in education with cities across the world.
In total this year 77 cities from 44 countries joined the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities.
