Six municipalities plan to take over state roads of 76 kilometers
RIGA, May 5 (LETA) - The Transport Ministry has received applications from Adazi, Kraslava, Aluksne, Balvi, Ventspils and Marupe muicipalities on their readiness to take over locally located roads from the state in a total length of 76 kilometers, LETA learned from the ministry's representative Baiba Guilbe.
According to the ministry, Aluksne municipality will take over the biggest stretch of the state road.
The ministry also has information about some other municipalities who might make the same move - Dobele, Limbazi, Saulkrasti municipaliies.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers regulations, starting from this year local governments will receive target subsidies worth EUR 1,560 for each kilometer taken over from the state.
