Vaccination speed is improving in Daugavpils - Pavluts
RIGA, Jan 13 (LETA) - As vaccination speed is improving in Daugavpils, all vaccines transported to Daugavpils have been used, said Health Minister Daniels Pavluts (For Development) in a press conference today.
He said that at present, there are 105 medics waiting for Covid-19 vaccines in Daugavpils.
The minister also said that this means that the overall situation in Latgale is improving.
As Daugavpils regional hospital board member Grigorijs Semjonos said, so far 180 people have been vaccinated in Daugavpils, including 112 hospital employees. Of the 105 people still waiting for vaccines, 17 are hospital employees.
There were also reports that many medics in Daugavpils have not applied for vaccines, not being sure about safety of the vaccines. Semjonovs said earlier at the parliament social and labor affairs committee meeting that those employees most often obtain information from social networks where there is much disinformation. He called on the Health Ministry to organize broader information campaigns about vaccination.
