17% of Daugavpils residents have received Covid-19 vaccines
RIGA, June 1 (LETA) - So far 17 percent of Daugavpils residents have received Covid-19 vaccines, said Daugavpils vice mayor Livija Jankovska (Our Party).
Vaccination centers continue work in the city, offering Pfizer/BioNTech and Johnson & Johnson vaccines, but also other institutions ensure the vaccination process.
The vice mayor called on residents to be more active as the vaccination level in the city is lower than average in Latvia.
To date, 477,573 people have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in Latvia, but 265,114 people have completed the vaccination process. A total of 742,687 injections of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the country.
According to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau, at the beginning of April 2021, Latvia had a provisional population of 1,887,600, so 25.3 percent of the population have received the first dose against Covid-19, but 14.05 percent have completed the vaccination process.
