Riga refugee support center has provided assistance to 10,897 Ukrainians so far
RIGA, April 8 (LETA) - The refugee support center in Riga has so far registered 10,897 assistance seekers from Ukraine, according to local government's data.
The Latvian capital city's government has received 2,735 requests for guaranteed minimum income and 2,732 requests for crisis benefits.
Also, 2,624 persons have submitted requests for the European Union's (EU) food packages.
Meanwhile, 2,005 Ukrainian children have been registered for admission to schools in Riga, including 630 kids registered for enrolment at preschools and 1,375 for admission to comprehensive schools.
The local authority has handed out 7,913 free SIM cards of Latvian mobile operators and 8,572 electronic public transport tickets.
