New taxi service provider Ruut to launch operations in Latvia

Riga, Oct 15 (LETA) - A new taxi service provider Ruut LV will start its work in Latvia within a month, the company's representatives informed LETA.

The company will inform about the exact date of the start of operations.

The company informed that the Road Transport Directorate (ATD) has issued a license to the newly established local company Ruut, which will initially operate in the territory of Riga.

The company will soon start providing services, as well as a mobile app and a customer and driver support service.

The company was founded by a team of local entrepreneurs committed to providing quality transport services to the residents of Riga. In order to set new standards in customer service and create a favorable working environment for drivers, market research was carried out for several years before the license was granted, and practices and experiences from other European countries were gathered, said Ruut representatives.

Andris Klavinskis, founder and CEO of Ruut, pointed out that by comparing taxi services in Latvia and other European countries, it is possible to improve the quality of services. "We plan not only to provide new jobs and transparent terms of cooperation for drivers, but also to improve the diversity of urban transport choices and service standards," he noted.

As reported, ATD has registered three new mobile apps for taxi services in Latvia in the third quarter of this year.

The new service providers are Rigas Autonoma with the mobile app X Taxi and the website www.xtaxi.lv, Kak with the mobile app KakTaxi and the website www.kaktaxi.lv, and Ruut LV with the mobile app Ruut.

According to Firmas.lv, Ruut LV was registered in September 2023 with a share capital of EUR 20,000. The company's capital is 66 percent owned by Klavinskis, 24 percent by Aigars Jermolajevs and 10 percent by Pumity. In 2024, Ruut LV sustained a loss of EUR 27,135.
