RIGA, May 5 (LETA) - Of the 358 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia in the past 24 hours, 39 percent have been recorded in Riga, with Jelgava also reporting a comparatively high number of cases, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

Riga reported 138 new Covid-19 cases, which brought the capital city's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases to 2,590.

Jelgava's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases declined to 337, with 28 cases recorded in the past 24 hours.

Daugavpils, as well as the regions of Ogre and Rezekne reported 11 new cases each, the Aluksne and Tukums regions reported eight cases each and the regions of Bauska, Ludza, Marupe, Olaine and Salaspils reported seven cases each. 

Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population is now 406.4.
