Riga, Nov 7 (LETA) - The municipality of Bauska will claim EUR 94,821 from the state to compensate for the damage caused by the July storm, LETA learned.

The town council has decided to submit an application for financial resources from the contingency funds to repair the damage caused during the storm to the properties of the Bauska municipality. The municipality's application for funding in the amount of EUR 94,821 will be submitted to the Smart Administration and Regional Development Ministry.

It was also decided to provide municipal co-financing in the amount of EUR 19,718 for the Bauska municipal facilities - structures insured to repair the damage caused by the storm of July 11, 2024, which is 25 percent of the amount of damage caused to the facilities.

Municipal co-financing of EUR 1,244 will be earmarked for a municipal facility that is not insured for storm damage, which is 30 percent of the damage to the facility.

The decision also provides for municipal co-financing of EUR 24,321 to compensate for crisis benefits granted by the municipality to residents in connection with the damage caused by the storm, representing half of the benefits paid.
