Liepaja and Dienvidkurzeme municipality received 32 Ukrainian refugees last week
RIGA, May 23 (LETA) - Last week, Liepaja and Dienvidkurzeme municipality registered 32 new refugees from Ukraine, LETA was told at the Liepaja local authority.
A total of 1,043 refugees have settled in Liepaja and 263 in Dienvidkurzeme municipality.
Nongovernmental organization Tabita's Heart has provided humanitarian assistance clothes, hygiene goods, bedclothes, furniture, etc. - to 126 Ukrainian refugees.
An information center for arrivals in Liepaja has provided 280 consultations by telephone and 50 in-person consultations to Ukrainians last week. Psychological counsel has been provided to four refugees.
At present, 69 Ukrainian kids are learning at Liepaja's schools and 43 children attend kindergartens in the city.
The local authority has provided accommodation to 198 persons.
