Riga, Feb 6 (LETA) - Daugavpils municipality has allocated EUR 8,630,200 in the 2025 budget to compensate the passenger carrier Daugavpils Satiksme, the municipality informed LETA.

Of this amount, EUR 7,607,700 are municipal funds and EUR 1,022,500 are state budget funds. The funding will be used for the maintenance of public transport, as well as for the payment of fares for passengers with concessions and for the operation of the bus and tram fleet.

Daugavpils Satiksme informed that in 2025, all existing discount fares will be maintained and the prices of single tickets and monthly passes will not be revised.

This year, the company will introduce an electronic ticketing system, modernize its website, create an exhibition of historical equipment and modernize its tram fleet.

According to Firmas.lv, the turnover of the municipal company Daugavpils Satiksme in 2023 was EUR 5,785,466, while the profit was EUR 33,041. More recent financial data are not yet available.
