Heating tariffs in Dobele up 76% in October
RIGA, Sept 8 (LETA) - Dobeles Energija heating company plans to increase heating tariffs by 76.2 percent as of October 10, according to the company's new tariff plan.
Dobeles Energija has submitted a new tariff project to the Public Utilities Commission, providing that tariffs will rise by 76.2 percent - from EUR 96.56 per MWh, excluding value added tax (VAT) to EUR 170.17 per MWh.
Heating generation tariff will rise by 88.4 percent - from EUR 76.28 to EUR 143.69 per MWh, while heating transmission and distribution tariff will increase by 35.9 percent - from EUR 23.48 to EUR 23.48 per MWh.
The tariffs will be increased because of higher expenses for natural gas and purchased heating energy.
According to Firmas.lv, Dobeles Energija belongs to the local government. In 2021, the company posted EUR 2 million in turnover and EUR 350,000 in profit.
