Adjustments in municipal infrastructure will ensure accommodation for more than 1,500 Ukrainian refugees - ministry
RIGA, Aug 12 (LETA) - Adjustments in municipal infrastructure will ensure accommodation for more than 1,500 Ukrainian refugees, LETA learned from the Environment Protection and Regional Development Ministry.
The ministry's commission has supported 18 municipal projects for adjusting infrastructure worth EUR 1,297,442, which will ensure accommodation for 1,529 Ukrainian refugees.
Several municipalities have already invested their own financial resources and adjusted infrastructure, providing accommodation for 215 people. In addition, Jelgava municipality will provide 140 jobs for Ukrainian civilians and Limbazi municipality will provide more than 70 jobs.
The commission will continue work on assessment of municipal projects for adjustment of infrastructure.
