Rezekne mayor points at lack of trustworthy information from responsible authorities in relation to Covid-19 outbreak

RIGA, Dec 9 (LETA) - There is still a lack of trustworthy information from responsible authorities in relation to Covid-19 outbreak, Rezekne Mayor Aleksandrs Bartasevics (Harmony) told LETA.
As the state of emergency continues, the local government has mobilized its institutions, requiring weekly reports on the Covid-19 statistics. Bartasevics said that the local government intends to inform residents regularly on the Covid-19 outbreak.
"Lack of trustworthy information from responsible institutions is still felt, therefore I consider it important to collect all information available in the municipality. All municipal structural units and capital companies, reporting infection and contact persons, will provide current information in the beginning of the week that will later be published on the platforms run by the local government," the politician said.
The current information will be published on the local government's website www.rezekne.lv and local paper Rezeknes Vestnesis.
According to the Center of Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), the 14-day cumulative Covid-19 incidence is Rezekne has reached 150 people.
