Riga City Council terminates cooperation with municipalities in Russia and Belarus

RIGA, March 2 (LETA) - The Riga City Council today decided to terminate cooperation with municipalities in Russia and Belarus.

Lawmakers from the Russian Union of Latvia (LKS) objected to such a decision.

Even opposition Harmony party lawmakers supported termination of these agreements. Harmony lawmaker Andrejs Morozons said that it is time for Latvian residents be united and become one nation.

Meanwhile, LKS representative Mitroslavs Mitrofanovs said that he does not support the decision because it does not give hope that the war will be over soon.
