Free Latvian language courses available for 120 more people in Riga
Riga, May 12 (LETA) - From Wednesday, May 14, a new application for free Latvian language courses provided by the Riga City Council will be opened, LETA was informed by the Riga City Council.
At least 120 residents of Riga are to be trained in these courses.
The Latvian language courses are free of charge for residents who have declared their place of residence in Riga. The courses are open to adult residents of Riga, with the exception of schoolchildren and the unemployed. Language courses will be provided at A and B level.
As reported, the groups of free Latvian language courses announced in January were filled within a day.
The Riga City Council has been organizing a project competition to provide Latvian language courses to Riga residents for 14 years - since 2011. During this time, thanks to the municipality's co-financing, around 16,000 Riga residents have learnt or improved their Latvian at the basic A or intermediate B level.
