Liepaja Regional Hospital limits elective services

RIGA, Oct 11 (LETA) - To ensure provision of medical assistance to a growing number of Covid-19 patients, as well as other urgent and severe patients, Liepaja Regional Hospital in southwestern Latvia is limiting provision of elective inpatient and daycare treatment, the hospital's spokeswoman Indra Grase told LETA.

The spokeswoman indicated that Liepaja Regional Hospital provides healthcare services to persons with certificates of vaccination against or recovery from Covid-19. Persons without Covid-19 certificates are tested before they are admitted to the hospital.

Liepaja Regional Hospital will continue to provide emergency medical assistance in urgent cases, as well as oncological and life-saving operations the cancellation of which can lead to disability. Treatment will also be provided to patients with cancer, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, mental disorders, contagious skin infections, STDs and injured patients, among other cases, Grase informed.
