RIGA, Feb 3 (LETA) -  Out of the 1,231 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia over the past 24 hours, nearly 30 percent were recorded in Riga, but a relative high number of cases were reported also in Daugavpils and the Valka region, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

Riga registered 352 new Covid-19 cases, which brought the capital city's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases to 3,659. 

The cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases in Daugavpils rose to 739, with 76 cases recorded in the past 24 hours. 

In Valka, the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases grew to 117, with 63 new cases registered in the past 24 hours. 

Another 35 Covid-19 cases were discovered in Rezekne and 28 in Jurmala, while Jelgava and Liepaja each registered 27 new coronavirus cases. 

With 3,659 Covid-19 cases recorded in the past two weeks, Riga remains the municipality with the highest cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases, followed by Daugavpils with 739, Jelgava with 425, Rezekne with 266, Jurmala with 265, Liepaja with 246, Gulbene region with 238, and Jelgava region and Jekabpils with 172 cases each.

Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population is now 568.76.
