RIGA, March 1 (LETA) - The political parties Movement For (Par!) and Code For Riga will run together with New Unity in the upcoming Riga City Council elections, Movement For board member Miks Celmins told LETA.

He points out that this will be the second municipal election in Riga in which Par! will run on a joint list with like-minded political forces, this time on the New Unity list headed by current Riga Mayor Vilnis Kirsis.

Par! has decided to support the team of the current Mayor Kirsis with the aim of uniting forces for the security of Riga, free from the power of oligarchs, Celmins explains.

At the same time, Par! chairwoman Linda Curika points out that this is a time when national and socially responsible political parties should, instead of looking for reasons why they cannot work together, be able to make decisions to work in the interests of the residents of Riga.
