Rally in support of Georgian people to take place in Riga
RIGA, Dec 3 (LETA) - On Wednesday, December 4, at 19:00, a rally in support of the people of Georgia will take place in Riga, the initiator of the event Andris Vitols informed LETA.
He stresses that the rally is not related to political organizations. Up to 100 participants could take part.
Commenting on the rally on the X website, Vitols writes that he would write on the posters supporting the rally that Georgia belongs to Europe, not Russia. Supporters should prepare the posters themselves.
The rally is planned in front of the Georgian Embassy, at 3 Raina Boulevard in Riga.
The Riga municipality confirmed to LETA that a rally has been approved in the municipality, the aim of which is "to express support for Georgian society in the fight against the falsification of the recent election results and for Georgia's integration into the European Union".
The rally has been registered in accordance with the procedure established by law.
As reported, Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braze (New Unity) announced on Sunday that the Baltic States had agreed to impose national sanctions on the oppressors of the legitimate protests in Georgia. Latvia has not made public the list of individuals.
