RIGA, May 10 (LETA) - On Tuesday, Saeima Budget and Finance Committee supported redistribution of funds from the contingency funds in the amount of EUR 3,255,493 to cover expenses incurred by 19 hospitals from December 2021 to April 2022 due to purchases of medical equipment and accessories.

Of this amount, EUR 3,776 will be allocated to Riga Hospital No. 1, EUR 844,067 to Riga Hospital No. 2, EUR 585,579 to Rezekne Hospital, EUR 1,102,805 to Jelgava Hospital, EUR 53,586 to Northern Kurzeme Regional Hospital, and EUR 122,682 to Vidzeme Hospital.

Furthermore, EUR 147,073 will be allocated to Jekabpils Regional Hospital, EUR 4,146 to Priekule Hospital, EUR 49,838 to Dobele Hospital, EUR 25,193 to Aluksne Hospital, EUR 71,577 to Bauska Hospital, EUR 17,010 to Cesis Clinic, EUR 70,050 to Madona Hospital, and EUR 23,850 to Limbazi Hospital.

Also, EUR 46,214 will be allocated to Sanare-KRC Jaunkemeri, EUR 56,072 to Tukums Hospital, EUR 10,618 to Saldus Medical Center, EUR 17,666 to Latvian Maritime Medicine Center, and EUR 3,691 to Aizkraukle Medical Center.

The funds will be allocated in accordance with a plan previously developed by the Health Ministry and approved by the government to increase hospitals' capacity and create additional beds for Covid-19 patients from December 2021 to April this year.
