    Steepest increase in Covid-19 vaccine uptake in October recorded in Daugavpils, Rezekne, Ventspils and Liepaja

    RIGA, Oct 27 (LETA) - In October, the share of residents vaccinated against Covid-19 grew at the fastest rate in Daugavpils, Rezekne, Ventspils and Liepaja, according to the data released by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).

    In Daugavpils, the share of vaccinated residents grew by 25 percent over the month to 40 percent at the end of October. In Rezekne, vaccine uptake increased by 23.3 percent to 37 percent. 

    Ventspils recorded a 21.6 percent increase in its vaccinated population to 45 percent, and in Liepaja the percentage of vaccinated people grew by 20 percent to 48 percent. 

    Meanwhile, the share of vaccinated residents grew by 18.2 percent in Jekabpils and Jurmala to 39 percent and 52 percent, respectively. In Jelgava, vaccine uptake rose by 17 percent to 48 percent and in Riga, the percentage of vaccinated residents grew by 15.9 percent in October to 51 percent. 

    In Valmiera, the share of vaccinated residents increased by 14 percent over the month to 57 percent.
