RIGA, Nov 9 (LETA) - Daugavpils and Kraslava municipality currently show the highest Covid-19 incidence in Latvia, according to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

The 14-day cumulative Covid-19 incidence in Latvia is 1,485.4 cases per 100,000 population, while in Daugavpils it is 2,822.9 cases, and in Kraslava municipality - 2,353.3 cases per 100,000 residents.

Other municipalities exceeding the average incidence level in the country are Salaspils, Augsdaugava, Preili and Jekabpils municipalities, Ventspils, Liepaja, Kuldiga and Kekava municipaliy, Rezekne, Sigulda, Bauska, Olaine and Ventspils municipalities.

Of the 1,451 new Covid-19 cases reported on Monday, 35 percent or 512 were registered in Riga, and the 14-day cumulative number of cases has reached 8,937, for the first time dropping below 9,000 since October 21.

Daugavpils reported 82 new cases, Ogre municipality - 47, Jelgava - 46, Liepaja - 39, Jurmala - 38, Valmiera municipality - 37, while a number of other municipalities reported a smaller number of new cases.
