RIGA, Jan 20 (LETA) - Riga Municipality this year will continue the renovation of the capital city's streets, resurfacing 46 streets or street sections for EUR 32 million, LETA was told at the city council's press office.

The most extensive renovation works are planned for this season on the section of Firsa Sadovnikova Street from Lacplesa Street to Katolu Street, Cesvaines Street, Vietalvas Street and the Sesku Street section from Piedrujas Street to Darzciema Street.

Repairs are also planned on Lielirbes Street from Ventspils Street to Kauguru Street, Kleistu Street from Martina Penika Street to Liela Street, Vecaku Avenue from Emmas Street to Palejas Street, Baldones Street from Slokas Street to Gregora Street, Granita Street from Krustpils Street to Dzirkalu Street and from Dzirkaļu Street to the city border.

Also, asphalt resurfacing is planned in the section of Roberta Feldmana Street from Ezermalas Street to Briges Street, Karla Vatsona Street, Klaipadas Street, Poruka Street, Glika Street, Stokholmas Street and elsewhere.

It is planned that almost all streets will have their adjacent pavements restored at the same time as the carriageway.

Last year, repairs were carried out on 32 streets with asphalt surfacing and 86 streets with gravel surfacing. The resurfaced area reached 90,000 square meters of gravel streets and 630,000 square meters of streets with asphalt surface.
