Number of classes in Riga switching to remote learning reaches 157

RIGA, Sept 15 (LETA) - Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the number of classes in quarantine in Riga has reached 157, said Indra Vilde, the spokeswoman for the Riga City Council education, culture and sports department.
Covid-19 has been detected among school staff, teachers and pupils, said Vilde, adding that the situation is changing every day.
At present, 62 schools and three preschools have switched to remote learning, including 157 classes and seven preschool groups being in quarantine.
In classes where children are vaccinated, the vaccinated pupils go to school, while unvaccinated pupils learn remotely.
Covid-19 cases have been detected also in music, art and sports schools and in a center of extracurricular activities.
