Number of guests at Riga hotels up 12.4% in H1
RIGA, Sept 2 (LETA). In the first six months of 2025, the total number of guests at Riga hotels increased 12.4 percent from the first half of 2024, Madara Oga, senior project manager at Riga Investment and Tourism Agency's International Marketing Department told LETA.
In total, visitors spent 1,243,673 nights in Riga.
The number of visitors from Great Britain rose by 29.9 percent, from Norway by 23 percent, and from Sweden by 20.4 percent.
In addition to the British and Scandinavian markets, special attention was paid this past summer to Poland, another priority market for Riga, with targeted marketing activities carried out there for the second year in a row.
As a result, the number of Polish tourists in Riga increased 12.6 percent in January-June.
According to Riga Investment and Tourism Agency, more than ten lifestyle and food influencers, opinion leaders, and journalists from Warsaw, Krakow, and Gdansk visited Riga this summer.
The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) said in August that both foreign tourists' spending and domestic tourism levels had surpassing pre-crisis levels.
According to the Central Statistical Bureau's data, the hospitality industry continues to grow steadily and is on the path to full recovery following the Covid-19 pandemic and geopolitical shifts due to the war in Ukraine, LIAA said.
